My $30 shoulder shrug

Well, as promised, here's the shoulder shrug that I made!  I got the pattern from Mrs. Kim who owns Rabbit Moon and it took me 2 skeins of Malabrigo Rios in Zarzamora and took about 2 days and 2 hours to finish. :)  I wish I could show you a photo from the front, but my clothes didn't want to work with me and I'm not up for revealing my face just yet. :)

This was the first pattern that I ever did that wasn't labelled 'beginner.'  I was pretty well excited to accomplish this one!

All it consists of is chaining this pieces as long as you want it to be then just double crochet in the 4th chain from the hook then chain 1, and repeat in every other stitch until you get to the end of the row - I chained 4 to count as a dc plus a ch1.  Rows 2 and on (until it gets as long as you want it to) you double crochet in the ch-1 space then add another ch-1 - that's pretty much it until you get it as long as you want, then go around the piece in single crochet once, then fold the rectangular cloth in half and stitch the arms together.  I went for the corners, and inch on both sides of the corners and it works for me, it's breezy and loose. It wore very well and I got a lot of compliments on it. :)

I want to say that Mrs. Kim got the pattern through Ravelry or Lion Brand yarn's website - if I find it, I'll link it here. :)

Sorry this post is kind of short... it's been a long day and I'm almost contemplating going to bed early... and it's only 7:30pm! >_O
